Minutes of the meeting of Coleraine Probus Club

Attendance: 40 members.

The Club President, John Graham, welcomed members and guests to the meeting . The guests from Omagh Ladies and Mens Probus Clubs were Audrey Hodge(Miss) Eamon Cunningham, Gerry McGonigle, Kenneth Collins and Jim McBain. He then introduced our speaker for the morning, Hugh McGrattan, the topic of his talk being “OLD PORTRUSH”.

Hugh McGrattan who spent 40 years as a local Journalist introduced his slide programme of the “PORT ON THE PROMENTARY” with an interesting outline of the historical personalities and events which provided the foundation stones for the prosperity of Portrush..

A vote of thanks proposed by Graham Kane was passed to Hugh McGrattan by the President. The members showed their appreciation.

Minutes: Because of time constraints it was agreed that the minutes of 12 January be taken as read. These were then signed by the President. The minutes can be examined on the Club Website.

A O B:
1. Members were reminded that the AGM will be held on Tuesday 26th January 2016.

2. Vice President Mike Turner informed the members that he will be out of commission for some months during the incoming Probus year and will therefore be unable to serve as President. The Second Vice President, Jim Archer, will be proposed as President with Mike Turner as Vice President at the AGM on Tuesday 26 January 2016.

3. Denis Wilson’s Charity supports abandoned children who suffer with severe disabilities.

Next Speakers Meeting: Will be held on Tuesday 2nd February 2016 and the speaker will be DENIS WILSON on the subject of “ PARIS TO BEJING”

The President reminded members that this would be his last formal club meeting as President and Hhe therefore wished to thank the members for their support and looked forward to seeing them at the AGM on Tuesday 26 January 2016
