Minutes of the meeting of Coleraine Probus Club
Attendance: 43 members were in attendance.

Apologies (6) Robin Blackford, Norman Gallagher, Des Johnston, John McGlade, John Ludlow, and Stanley White. .

The Vice President, Derick Woods, gave a warm welcome to members He then introduced this mornings speaker John McCullagh, the topic of his talk being ”Kids4School, Tanzania”.

A question and answer session followed the talk. A vote of thanks proposed by Graham Kane was passed to John by the Vice President.

Weekly Business:
Minutes: The minutes of the 5th February 2019 were, with the approval of the . members, taken as read and signed by the Vice President. These can be viewed on the Club website.

Matters arising: None not covered by the agenda.

Correspondence: A letter was received from the Simon Community dealing with homeless.individuals. This can be viewed at the signing in table.

Reports:
Social: Joe Alcorn informed members that on 26th February 2019 we have been invited to the Boathouse of The R.N.L.I. at Portrush Harbour. Members will travel direct to the Boathouse to arrive not later than 10:45 am. The Boathouse does not cater for those with disabilities and can cater for only about 20 visitors. Please bear this in mind. Parking is available beside the boathouse during the time of the visit which will finish at 12:00 noon. An informal lunch may follow afterwards at The Lodge Hotel.

Welfare. Cecil Spotten said that it was good to see John McHenry back at Probus. John Ludlow is out of hospital and is progressing well. Malcolm Hinds is in The City Hospital Intensive Care Unit suffering from pneumonia

Treasurer. Nigel Semple thanked members who have already paid the annual subscription of £25:00. He is still open for receiving outstanding subscriptions.

Any Other Business. Membership cards for 2019/20 are now available from the Secretary.

Next Meeting: The next speakers meeting will be held on Tuesday 19th February 2019 in . Portstewart Golf Club when The Regional Commander, Sean McGarry will speak on the subject of “The Community Rescue Service.”

Closing Remarks. The Vice President, Derick Woods, thanked members for attending this his first . opportunity to chair the meeting. He looked forward to seeing them at the next meeting on 19th February.
