Draft Minutes of the meeting of Coleraine Probus Club It was with sadness that Vice President, Derick Woods, had to inform members of the death, on 12th February, of Club Member, Malcolm Hinds. The Club was well represented at the Funeral service held in James McMullan’s Funeral Parlour, Ballymoney, on Monday 18th February. Cremation at Roselawns takes place today, 19th February, at 11:30 am. Malcolm was an active and friendly Probus member and served on the Club Committee as Assistant Secretary.
Attendance: 38 members were in attendance.
Apologies (8) Joe Alcorn, Jim Archer, Robin Blackford, Norman Gallagher, John McGlade, John McKegney, Norman Maxwell and Billy Platt. . . .
The Vice President, Derick Woods, gave a warm welcome to the members. President John McGlade is still on holiday but it is anticipated that he will be back for the club meeting on Tuesday 5th March. He then introduced this mornings speakers, Sean McCarry and Barry Torrens, the topic of their talk being ”The Community Rescue Service”.

An enthusiastic question and answer session followed the talk. A vote of thanks proposed by Gordon Ward was passed to Sean and Barry by the Vice President.

Minutes: The minutes of the 12th February 2019 were, with the approval of the members, taken as read and signed by the Vice President. These can be viewed on the Club website.
Matters arising: None not covered by the agenda.

Reports.
Social. Des Moore informed members that on 26nd February 2019 we have been invited to the Boathouse of The R.N.L.I. at Portrush Harbour. Members will travel direct to the Boathouse to arrive not later than 10:45 am. The Boathouse does not cater for those with disabilities and can cater for only about 25 visitors. Please bear this in mind. Parking is available beside the boathouse during the time of the visit which will finish at 12:00 noon. An informal lunch will follow afterwards at 12:30 pm. in The Lodge Hotel.…
Welfare. Cecil Spotten said that it was good to see John Ludlow back at Probus. Jim Gordon has transferred from The Cottage Nursing Home back to Holywell Hospital in Antrim.
Treasurer. Nigel Semple thanked members who have already paid the annual subscription of £25:00. He is still open for receiving outstanding subscriptions.. He is still open to receiving
Any Other Business. The Probus Magazine, Spring Edition is now available from Ken Parkes..
Next Meeting: The next speakers meeting will be held on Tuesday 5th March 2019 in Portstewart Golf Club when Jeremy Lewis will speak on the subject of “The Riverside Theatre, The Early Years.”
Closing Remarks. The Vice President, Derick Woods, thanked members for attending this his second opportunity to chair the meeting. He looked forward to seeing them at the next meeting on 26th February at the R.N.L.I. in Portrush.
