Minutes of the meeting of Coleraine Probus Club
Attendance: 36members were in attendance.

Apologies (10) Robin Blackford, George Butler, Robert Campbell, John Graham, Jim Hillis, Cecil Leitch, John McHenry, John McKegney, Gordon Ward and Derick Woods.

The President, John McGlade, gave a warm welcome to the members. He then introduced this mornings speaker, Alan Jeffers, from The Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council the topic of his talk being ”The Portrush Regeneration Project”.

A question and answer session followed the talk. The President thanked Alan for an interesting and informative talk.

Weekly Business:
Minutes: The minutes of the 19th March 2019 were, with the approval of the members, taken as read and signed by the President. These can be viewed here on the Club website.

Matters arising: Graham Kane proposed that George Butler be accepted for membership of Coleraine Probus Club. The proposal was seconded by John Christy and approved unanimously by the members.

Correspondence: None.

Reports.
Social. Joe Alcorn reported that the next Probus Lunch will be held on Tuesday 7th May in The Lodge Hotel and will be preceded by the annual Club Quiz. This will be the last meeting before the Summer break.

Welfare. Cecil Spotten said it was good to see John Ludlow back at Probus. He has nothing further to report. . .

Treasurer. Nigel Semple has nothing to report.

Any Other Business.
1. CLUB AWAY DAY. On 30th April we travel to Kilrea to visit David Laughlin’s Organic Farm. Travel details will be announced later.

2. NW200 Road Race. On 14th May the triangle circuit roads will be closed between 9:15 am. and 3:00 pm. The Probus meeting on that date is now cancelled.

3. EASTER TUESDAY. There will not be a Probus meeting on Tue. 23rd April.
. Next Meeting: The next speakers meeting will be held on Tuesday 9th April 2019 in Portstewart Golf Club when Barry Williamson will speak on the subject of “Talking News.”

Closing Remarks. The President, thanked members for attending and looked forward to seeing them at the next speaker’s meeting on the 9th April.
