Minutes of the meeting of Coleraine Probus Club
Attendance: 44 members were in attendance.

Apologies: James Dinsmore, John Dobson, Eric Fulton, James Nesbitt, Reggie Patterson, Ernest Preece, Robin Semple, and John Tan. (8)

The President, Jim Archer, welcomed members to the meeting. He then introduced this morning’s speaker, Alan Devers the topic of his talk being “Headhunters, a Unique Museum and Barber’s Shop in Enniskillen” .

The Headhunters is a unusual barber’s shop in Enniskillen which also houses a Railway Museum. Both remarkable establishments rely on the endless enthusiasm of brothers Gordon and Nigel Johnston along with a team of dedicated volunteers. The Museum has an impressive collection of railway memorabilia and Alan’s talk and presentation was thoroughly enjoyable and must have tempted many members to visit the museum.

A question and answer session followed the talk.

A vote of thanks proposed by Billy Platt was passed to Alan Devers by the President.The members showed their appreciation.

Weekly Business:
Minutes: The Minutes of 17th January 2017 were, with the approval of the members, taken as read and signed by the President.

Matters arising: None not covered by the agenda.

Correspondence: None.

Social: Joe Alcorn reminded members that there will not be a club lunch this month.

Welfare: Cecil Spotten had nothing new to report.

Treasurer: Nigel Semple had nothing to report.

A.O.B. None.

Next meeting: Will be held on Tuesday 31st January 2017. This will the AGM when the Rotary Liaison Officer Liam Hickey, will chair the election of Office Bearers and Committee Members.

The next speakers meeting will be held on Tue. 7th Feb. 2017 when Samuel Reid’s topic will be “The Dog’s Trust.”

The President, after relating a few amusing tales, thanked members for attending and hoped to see a good turnout of members at the AGM on 31st January.
