Minutes of the meeting of Coleraine Probus Club
Attendance: 42 members were in attendance.

Apologies: Joe Alcorn, John Dobson, Noel Finlay, Danny Kennedy, Reggie Patterson, Ernest Preece and John Tan (7)

The President, Jim Archer, welcomed members to the meeting. He then introduced this morning’s speaker, John Moore, the topic of his talk being “The Creation of a Village - Castlerock” (John kindly stepped in as speaker when Jean Orr could not attend because of illness.)

A question and answer session followed the talk. A brief summary of this talk is available in the speakers’ record book and here on the club website.

A vote of thanks proposed by John McKegney was passed to John Moore by the President. The members showed their appreciation.

Weekly Business:
Minutes: Because of time limitations it was agreed by the members that the minutes of 3rd January 2017 be taken as read. These were signed by the President.

Matters arising: None not covered by the agenda.

Correspondence: None.

Reports:
Social: An apology was received from Joe Alcorn. The next Probus Lunch will be on Tuesday 28th February 2017.

Welfare: Cecil Spotten had nothing further to report.

Treasurer: Nigel Semple confirmed that the accounts for 2016 will be presented at the AGM. Annual subscription of £25:00 for 2017 is due for payment in February.


A.O.B. Formal notice was given for the AGM. on Tue. 31st Jan. 2017. Members wishing to raise matters for the Agenda or make changes / additions to the Constitution should inform the Secretary on or before Tue. 17th January 2017.

Next meeting: Will be held on Tuesday 17th January 2017 when Gary Mullan will speak on the subject of “Community Planning".

The President, after relating a few anecdotes, thanked members for attending and hoped to see everyone at the next Club meeting.
