Club President Gordon Ward welcomed members to this, his very last speakers meeting before ending his term of office at the AGM next week. The President then introduced our speaker for the morning Mr. Maurice McHenry, a school head teacher, a sheep farmer, an author, a local historian and a founder member and chairman of Ballintoy Archaeological and Historical Society. Maurice was going to tell us about 'John Clarke and the History of Potatoes'.
A special summary of this excellent talk is available in the Speakers Record Book, and also on the club web site, thanks to our Press Officer, John Dobson. A vote of thanks was proposed by Cecil Leitch and was passed on by the Past President. The members showed their appreciation.
