Minutes for 22nd September 2015

Minutes of the meeting of Coleraine Probus Club

Attendance: 35 members.

The Club President, John Graham, welcomed members to the meeting and then introduced our speaker for the morning Mr Ken Perry, the topic for his talk being “The Wonder of Birds”.

Ken gave a brief outline of his post Banking retirement career which opened the road ahead and enabled him to become a Financial Auditor for Wycliffe Bible Translators to obtain a Masters Degree in the University at Coleraine and then a Doctorate in Ornithological Research.

This allowed him to prepare Environmental Impact Assessments for the Windfarm Industry at the same time giving him the opportunity to continue his passion for the study of birdlife.

This passion was reflected in his talk which was liberally illustrated with outstanding photographs.

The President requested that because of time limitations, members with questions should talk to Ken after the meeting.

A summary of this talk is available in the Speaker’s Record Book and also on the Club website (just 'Click' here).

A vote of thanks proposed by Malcolm Hinds was passed to Mr Perry by the President. The members showed their appreciation.
