Minutes of 17th November 2015

Minutes of the meeting of Coleraine Probus Club

Attendance: 46 members.

The Club President, John Graham, welcomed members to the meeting. He reported that unfortunately this morning’s speaker, Andrew Fleming from St John Ambulance was unable to attend, the notification being given at very short notice.

However, two of our own members stepped into the breach, namely Ken Parkes and Des Moore. Ken reminisced about childhood long summer holidays spent in Portrush with visits to family in Londonderry. Lancashire also brought memories of fresh air, fun and the Blackpool Tower. In conclusion Ken recited, in an appropriate Lancashire accent, the monologue of Mr & Mrs Ramsbottom and their unfortunate son Albert.

Des presented a photographic extravaganza of North Coast scenes from Londonderry to Cushendun and he gave a commentary on the photographs, many of which were taken for the Probus All Ireland Rally which was hosted by the Coleraine Club in 2014.

In view of the short notice, the President congratulated Ken and Des on an excellent presentation. The members enthusiastically endorsed the President’s sentiments.

A summary of the presentation is available in the Speaker’s Record Book and also here on the Club website.
