Minutes for 13th October 2015

Minutes of the meeting of Coleraine Probus Club

Attendance: 43 members.

The Club President, John Graham, welcomed members to the meeting with a special welcome to our guest Mr. John McKegney. He then introduced our speaker for the morning Emma Thorpe, the topic of her talk being “History of Motion Pictures.”

Emma is the Development Officer for the N. Ireland Screen Digital Film Archive and her presentation of a selection of beautifully preserved films that captured over 100 years of Northern Ireland on film was so well received by the Probus members that it was hinted that a future return visit by Emma would be most welcome. She recommended that members visit the web-site www.digitalfilmarchive.net

The talk concluded with a question and answer session.

A summary of this talk is available in the Speaker’s Record Book and also here on the Club website.

A vote of thanks proposed by Des Moore was passed to Emma Thorpe by the President. The members showed their appreciation.
