REPORTS:
Social: Joe Alcorn reported that 22 members and guests enjoyed an excellent Club Lunch on Tuesday 27 October. There will not be a Probus Club Lunch in November, the next being the Christmas lunch and Entertainment on Tuesday 8 December 2015.
Welfare: Cecil Spotten confirmed that Tony Smyth is reasonably well after his hip operation.
Treasurer: Nothing to report.
A O B:
New Member 1: The President presented John McKegney with the Club Badges and Constitution.
New Member 2: Graham Kane gave notice that he would be proposing Jim Torrens for membership at the next meeting
Committee Meeting: The President reminded all Committee Members that a Committee Meeting will be held in the Dalzell Room of the Golf Club on Tuesday 10 November at 9.30am.
The President then welcomed our speaker for the morning, Mr Ken McCormack, the subject of his talk being “Curious Tales of the Earl Bishop.” He said it was appropriate that this morning in the “Shadow of Downhill” we should examine the curiosities of the mercurial live wire, Frederick Agustus Hervey, who in 1768 was elevated to the Bishopric of Derry and became the Earl Bishop.
This was an enlightening lecture which delved into the more intimate exploits of the Earl Bishop. Ken McCormack said he would be pleased to answer members’ questions after the meeting.

A vote of thanks proposed by Billy Platt was passed to Ken McCormack by the President. The members showed their enthusiastic appreciation.
Next Speakers Meeting: Will be held on Tuesday 10 November 2015 and the speaker will be Nicola Greer from the Causeway Rural and Urban Network on the subject of “55+ Project on Alcohol Awareness.”
The President thanked the members for attending and looked forward to the next meeting.
