Minutes of the meeting of Coleraine Probus Club
Held in Portstewart Golf Club on Tuesday 21st October 2014

Attendance: 47 members and guests were present

Apologies: Jim Archer, Peter FitzGerald, John Graham, Jack Henderson, Graham MacDonald, Reggie Patterson, Cecil Spotton, Tony Smyth and Joe Wishart (9)

Club President Gordon Ward welcomed members and guests to the meeting and then introduced our speaker for the morning Ms. Mandy Hunt who works for the 'Heart Start Department' of the Northern Health Trust. Mandy then went on to explain a little about her job, show an interesting video about CPR and then give a teaching demonstration for all our members and guests to learn how to do CPR - that's 'Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation'. A brief summary of this talk is available in the Speakers Record Book, and also on the club web site. A vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. John McGlade and was passed on by the President. The members showed their appreciation.

Minutes: The minutes of the 14th October 2014 were taken as read do to lack of time.

Matters arising: None not covered by the agenda.

Correspondence: Disability Sport NI had sent information to the club.

Social: The Secretary reminded members about the club lunch on 28th October and asked for all choices forms to be returned to him at the end of the meeting.
The President reminded members about the Bushmills Distillery trip on 25th November and said the timetable and costs would be - Arrive 10.45. Tea and Scones then tour at 11.30. Samples about 12.15 and Lunch or return home - costs, £3.00 tea/coffee and scones. £5.50 tour - special low rate.

Welfare: Cecil Spotten reported that Jim Foote was still making a slow recovery, was out of intensive care, but not able to have general visitors at the Causeway hospital.

A O B: 1. None (possibly a 'first' for the club!)

Next Two Meetings: Would be on 28th October, for the Club Lunch - 12.00 for 12.30 meal.
and the next Speakers Meeting would be on 4th November for a talk by Dr. Richard Burns on "Good Practice". Guests were also invited to this meeting, as it is a topic that is important for all our family members!

The President thanked members for attending and hoped that everyone would also be along in two weeks time.
