Minutes of the meeting of Coleraine Probus Club
Held in Portstewart Golf Club on Tuesday 23rd September 2014

Attendance: 32 members were present

Apologies: Jim Archer, Norman Austin, Robert Campbell, Peter FitzGerald, Jim Foote, John Graham, Jim Hillis, Des Johnson, Cecil Leitch, Mervyn Patterson, Tony Smyth & Joe Wishart (12)

Club President Gordon Ward welcomed members to the meeting and thanked our Vice President John Graham for standing in for him over the last two weeks. The President then went on to introduce our speaker for the morning Mr. James McDowell. James gave us an interesting and colourful illustrated talk on the 'Birds of the Czech Republic'. A brief summary of this talk is available in the Speakers Record Book, and also on the club web site. A vote of thanks was proposed by Des Johnson and was passed on by the President. The members showed their appreciation.

Minutes: The minutes of the 16th September 2014 were read, agreed and signed.

Matters arising: None not covered by the agenda.

Correspondence: None.

Social: The Secretary reminded members about the Club Lunch on 30th September, and asked that any late additions or menu changes were directed to John Graham as he would be away for the meal itself.

Welfare: Cecil Spotten reported that Jim Foote was now back in the ward at the Causeway Hospital and it was hoped he would be able to go to his daughter's home soon.

Treasurer: Nigel Semple said the accounts were in order and there was nothing to report.

A O B: 1. The Gaitherin, The Secretary reminded members about the Gaitherin TV programme filming at the Town Hall on 29th September.

Next Speakers Meeting: Would be on 7th October, where the guest speaker would be Mr. Tony Bareham, telling us 'The story of Tea'

The President thanked members for attending and hoped everyone would also be along next week.
