Minutes of the meeting of Coleraine Probus Club
Held in Portstewart Golf Club on Tuesday 21st January 2014

Attendance: 45 members were present - our biggest of the year!

Apologies: Graham Kane, Arnold Carson, John Graham, John McGlade, Jim Nesbitt and Ross Torrens (6)

Club Vice President Gordon Ward welcomed club members to the meeting and gave the apologies from Graham Kane, our President who was waiting for a delayed visit from the 'mobile medic' who was treating him. Gordon then introduced our speaker for the morning Mr. Ian Marr, who gave a very detailed account of his time in the motor industry (which he called 'My life in Fords'). A brief summary of this talk is available in the Speakers Record Book, and on the club web site, for members' interest. A vote of thanks was proposed by Eric Fulton and was passed on by the President. The members showed their appreciation.

Minutes: The minutes of the 14th January 2014 read, agreed and signed.

Matters arising: None not covered by the agenda.

Correspondence: None.

Rally 2014: Jim Gordon said that there was nothing specific to report this week. There would be a Rally Committee meeting on 4th February

Social: Jim Gordon said that the February 25th lunch would be at the Golf Club. He had been in negotiations with the caters at the club for a meal that was better quality and better value than of late, and was confident that things would be improved for our next meal.

Welfare: Cecil Spotten said there was nothing to report this week, and was pleased that Noel Finley was back at the club - as was we all.

Treasurer: Nigel Semple said he was preparing the accounts for auditing and would be fully reporting at the AGM next week.

A O B: AGM: Final notice reminder was given that the AGM would be on 28th January, 10.30 for 11.00am start.

Next Speakers Meeting: Would be on 4th February, where the guest speaker would be Prof. Harry McMahon – Visual Artist, on 'Names, Numbers and the Troubles'

Vice President thanked all for attending, and hoped to see everyone for our next meeting, the AGM, on 28th January.
