Minutes of the meeting of Coleraine Probus Club
Held in Portstewart Golf Club on Tuesday 2nd December 2014

Attendance: 39 members and guests were present

Apologies: Gordon Ward, John Graham, Leslie Brennan, Robert Campbell, Aubrey McElhinney, John McGlade and Ian Murray (7)

In the absence of both Club President and Vice President, Past President Graham Kane took the chair, and welcomed members and guest John Tan to the meeting. The President then introduced our speaker for the morning Rev. Graham Nevin, who then set too, telling us about 'Northern Ireland - The last 1000 Million Years’.
A brief summary of this talk is available in the Speakers Record Book, and also on the club web site. A vote of thanks was proposed by Des Johnston and was passed on by the Past President. The members showed their appreciation.

Minutes: The minutes of the 18th November 2014, and excellently complied by Graham MacDonald, were taken as read, due to time limitations.

Matters arising: None not covered by the agenda.

Correspondence: None

Social: Nigel Semple gave a brief report on the very successful visit to Bushmills Distillery on 25th November. Around 22 members had a very interesting, entertaining and tasty tour, and thanked the staff at Bushmills for looking after us all so well, as well as our President to arranging to visit.
Jim Gordon reminded members about the Christmas Lunch, and said that he could only take changes to lunch choices/numbers before Friday 5th December.
Reggie Patterson told members that the concert this year would be provided the well known local entertainer, Maggie Ferris. Should be good!

Welfare: Cecil Spotten reported that Jim Foote was, sadly, back in the Causeway, and still not allowed general visitors.

A O B: 1. New Member: John McHenry proposed Mr John Tan, local Orthodontist, for membership of the club. This was seconded by Nigel Semple and agreed by all the members. Our Past President welcomed John to the Club, and said that his formal membership presentation would be presented to him on the first meeting after the Christmas break.
2. 'Counterpoint' Concert: Nigel Semple informed members that this years 'Counterpoint' Concert would be held on Friday 5th December, 7.30pm at St. Patrick's Church in town - hopefully there would be a good attendance from members.

The Past President thanked all the members and guest for attending and hoped that members not able to attend the Christmas Concert and Lunch, would be at the Golf Club after our seasonal break, when we started our first meeting in 2015 on 6th January
