Minutes of the meeting of Coleraine Probus Club
Held in Portstewart Golf Club on Tuesday 15th January 2013

Attendance: 48 members and guests were present.

Apologies: Joe Alcorn, Sam Barr, Leslie Brennan, Alec Elliott, Ronnie Grey, Hamilton Houston, Neville Lamont, John Ludlow, Gareth Parry, Mervyn Patterson, Robin Semple and Jim Nesbitt (12)

Our President Ross Torrens welcomed members, our Rotary Club Liaison Officer, Peter FitzGerald and several of the members' wives to the meeting. The President then introduced our speaker for the morning, Bernie McKenna, who gave a highly informative talk, presentation and demonstration on 'Heart attacks, bleeding and choking'. A vote of thanks was proposed by Leo Dolan and was passed on by the President. The members showed their appreciation.

Minutes: Due to the lateness of this part of the meting, the minutes of the meeting on 8th January 2013 were taken as read.
Matters arising: None not covered by the agenda.
Correspondence: None

Rally 2014: Jim Gordon said that there had been no further discussions or meetings with the council over the extended Christmas / New Year break, but would report back when there was anything new to discuss.

Social: Jim Gordon reminded members that there would be no club lunch this month, as the AGM would be on the last Tuesday in January. Next lunch would be Feb 26.
Welfare: Tony Smyth said there was nothing to report this week
Treasurer: Nigel Semple said that he had nothing to report.

A O B: AGM 29th January: Members wishing to raise any club constitution matters or wish to add topics for discussion to the agenda must have these in writing to the Secretary by 22nd January

Next Speakers Meeting: Will be on 22nd January 2013, here at 10.30 for 11.00 start. The speaker will be Dermot Gordon on 'Sailing from Gran Canaria to St. Lucia.
