Minutes of the meeting of Coleraine Probus Club
Held in Portstewart Golf Club on Tuesday 23rd April 2013

Attendance: 38 members were present.

Apologies: Jim Archer, Arnold Carson, Jim Gordon, Ivan Gough, Ronnie Gray, John Leslie, Norman Maxwell, John McGrath, Garath Parry, Reggie Patterson, Cecil Spotten, Gordon Ward and Joe Wisheart (13)

Club President Graham Kane welcomed club members and guest Eric Fulton to the meeting. The President then introduced our speaker for the morning Edward Montgomery, who gave a talk about 'The Honourable The Irish Society'. A summary of this talk is available on the ‘Probus Speakers' page for readers interest. A vote of thanks was proposed by Cecil Leitch and was passed on by the President. The members showed their appreciation.

Minutes: Due to time constraints, the minutes of the meeting on 16th April 2013 were taken as read.

Matters arising: None not covered by the agenda

Correspondence: None

Social: Jim Foote reported in Jim Gordon's absence that he was collecting menu choices for the Club Lunch on 14th May. Jim also had more menus should any members wanted one due to missing last weeks meeting.

Welfare: Tony Smyth reported that he had been in contact with Jack Donaldson's daughter recently. Jack had celebrated his 87th birthday last week, enjoying a special Chinese meal for his birthday treat.

Treasurer: Nigel Semple said that the accounts were in order and had nothing to report.

A O B: Reminder: Nigel reminded members about the 'Counterpoint' concert on 27th April, 8.00pm in St. Patrick's - this was a compulsory attendance event!

Next Speakers Meeting: Would be on 30th April, with a talk by Ms Jayne Taggart of the Causeway Enterprise Agency.
