Minutes of the meeting of Coleraine Probus Club

Attendance: 39 members and guests were present

Club President Gordon Ward welcomed members and hardy souls to our second meeting of the year, on this stormy day. The President then introduced our speaker for the morning Mr. Robert Anderson, well known river pilot and local historian. Robert's talk today was the fascinating story of 'The History of the Barrmouth'.

A brief summary of this talk is available in the Speakers Record Book, and also on the club web site. A vote of thanks was proposed by Ian Murray and was passed on by the President. The members showed their appreciation.

Minutes: The minutes of the 6th January 2015, were taken as read, due to time limitations.

Matters arising: None not covered by the agenda.

Correspondence: None

Social: The President reminded members that there would be no club lunch in January, as the last week would be the AGM date.

Welfare: Cecil Spotten reported that Jim Foote was still the Causeway, and still not allowed general visitors. Arnold Carson, who is in 'Brookmount', was not really settling into the home.

A O B: 1. AGM: The President gave a second and final formal notice that the club's AGM would be held on Tuesday 27th January. Members wishing to raise and matters for the agenda or make any changes/additions to the constitution should inform the Secretary at the end of the meeting.
2. All Ireland Rally 2015: Graham Kane reminded members that he had arranged with the Hotel staging the Ennis Rally on 13 and 14th May for a reduced price two night stay for the Rally. See Graham ASAP if members wish to take up the offer.

Next Speakers Meeting: Would be on 20th January, where the guest speaker would be Mr. Maurice McHenry on 'John Clarke and the History of Potatoes'.

The President thanked members for attending and hoped everyone would also be along next week.
